Brie, Sundried Tomato and Basil Bruschetta with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon
There are many delicious ways to enjoy holiday parties. The past 9 days have showcased hors d’oeuvres paired with cocktails to add a festive edge wintertime gatherings. However, with the wide range of flavor combinations out there, sometimes it is best to get back to basics.
Today’s pairing goes right back to the classic combinations that have been present at countless parties. Holding a glass of red wine while enjoying some tasty nibbles creates a feeling of elegance regardless of the occasion. In the winter months especially I enjoy a good glass of red wine. The full flavors and rich color work together to bring warmth and richness to a night at home or with friends celebrating the love and joy of the holidays.
For this pairing, I wanted to share with you a wine that is convenient and affordable for this time of holiday soirees. Boxed wines have come with a stigma that does not make many people too thrilled. However, I am a big fan of Black Box’s Cabernet Sauvignon. With the equivalent of 4 bottles of wine per box, the price, quantity and quality is perfect to have around.
The hors d’oeuvres that Debi has prepared for today’s pairing works perfectly with the Cabernet Sauvignon. The gentle flavors of cherry and raspberry are mild and rich, which work nicely with the flavors in the Brie, Sundried Tomato and Basil Bruschetta. Click here for the recipe.
There are only 2 days of these posts left! Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for another great pairing!
