Quick Photo Update from ‘Mr. Terrace’

by Tokyo Terrace on August 6, 2010

Hey everyone.  Rachael has had quite the week, so here’s a little update and a preview of what’s to come in the next week or two here at Tokyo Terrace.

First, Rachael’s best friend had her first baby on Sunday.  Mom & baby are happy, healthy, and home now.  Awesome.

Second, we made homemade pasta with the fam this week.  It was delicious.

Third, Rachael designed and executed a 6-course Japanese-Fusion Wine Dinner last night for 41 guests at Ursula’s Wine Bar & Cafe in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.  The most common refrains of the evening were: “I want three more of these!” and “I can’t wait to see this girl on the Food Network!”  The evening was a huge success, from Rachael’s brilliant and creative dishes to the restaurant owner’s perfect wine (and sake) pairings.  Over the next couple weeks, Rachael will be posting and re-posting her recipes for each of the dishes served at this fabulous occasion.  We have two more weeks in Minnesota before returning to Tokyo for another exciting year.

Last, Rachael got her wisdom teeth removed today so she’ll be watching a whole lot of ‘Friends’ and Food Network re-runs over the next few days while she heals up.  Until then, enjoy the photos and feel free to leave some love for her in the comments below.

Love to you sweet Rachael! Your Auntie Judy loves you and loves to keep up with your adventures. Food Network will be a lot more fun to watch when you get there!

Looks like fun! I wish I could have made it. I did get to sample some of the food though the week before. It was yummy! I LOVED the salmon dish! Rest up from the wisdom teeth surgery. Baby Finn wants to spend some more time with you soon!

Miss Rachael is amazing – & Mr. Terrace is not too shabby either!

What a grea mix of photos – new baby, homemade pasta, beautiful dinner photos, but boo on the recovery after wisdom teeth removal. It's good to have it out of the way, but still a literal pain. Mine were all impacted and all removed at once, on New Year's Eve. Yuck. I feel for you and hope it's a speedy recovery. Give my regards to Miss Chanandler Bong. 😉

I love that you used Siracha (sp?). That is my favorite hot sauce and it tastes good on anything. I have loved reading your recipes and trying some. Rachael a great cook. Good luck on the wisdom teeth. I know when I got mine out I was puffy as a blowfish for days (don't use straws!) I wish I could try some of those Japanese recipes. That baby is pretty adorable especially with his little butt chin and blue eyes.
