[...] This year, instead of doing one super, mega, stressful meal for Christmas Eve, I decided to plan for three smaller meals – Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day brunch, and Christmas Day dinner. This worked out fairly well – I got my fill of cooking and baking but wasn’t too exhausted to enjoy the food or my time off from work. Christmas Eve we had a creamy sweet potato and chipotle soup, the famous (c. 2006) No-Knead Bread, a maple-roasted butternut squash and apple salad with a maple mustard dressing, poached pears with cinnamon cream cheese pound cake, and sparkling sangria with cranberries and oranges.
I'm having my own christmas party with all my friends. Since most everyone is from somewhere else, and the plane tickets aren't conducive to anyone's money saving habits, I've decided it would be best to throw money into making a beautiful gourmet feast right here. And I'm using some of your cocktail recipes too!

Just wanted to let you know!

luv,
Heather

Fantastic color, and I do so admire these glasses. Cranberries make for such a great ingredient since their color is so vibrant -- even when you cook them, they never lose that great hue! I like sangrias that are more tart and full-bodied versus just sugary, and this recipe looks like just the ticket!

I love Sangria! It's always been one of those things I order at a restaurant because I don't know how to make it, but now I can make my own!
